Why have you chosen “Fill the Void” for your volunteer commitment?
A gym is not a functional space for performance. It limits the possibilities and achievements of our students. It’s time that they have a space that will enhance their work and expand our opportunities for creativity and collaboration.
As a music teacher, I am obviously passionate about how music and the arts shape and enrich our lives. I believe that music can unite a widely diverse group of people and teach them to have empathy, compassion and cooperation. Through the arts we can teach self-confidence, emotional awareness, physical presence, leadership and perseverance, among other skills. The work that we do in the music classroom is legitimate and worthy of showcasing in an appropriate venue.
Krystal Morin is a graduate of Plymouth State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. Krystal is in her eighth year of teaching music at ConVal High School in Peterborough, NH where she conducts five choral ensembles. She is the current music director of the youth choir, Second Generation Manchester Choral Society (2GMCS), and on the faculty at the Manchester Community Music School teaching private voice and piano. She currently sings in the Manchester Choral Society and has served as both interim music director and assistant music director intern for the organization. She currently serves on the board of the NH chapter of the American Choral Directors Association and as the chair of PR and Marketing for Manchester Choral Society. When she’s not doing any of the above, she also sings with the New Hampshire Master Chorale and travels every other summer with the New Hampshire Friendship Chorus.
