Why have you chosen “Fill the Void” as a volunteer commitment?

I have chosen “Fill the Void” as my volunteer commitment because I am passionate about the arts. As an artist, I feel it is essential to have a Performing Arts Theatre to help nurture and support the wonderful talent that exists in this area. While at ConVal, I felt that my daughter Montana greatly benefited from both the Drama & Music Departments, and the idea of having students pursue their passion in an actual theatre setting would be outstanding. I can only imagine what could be accomplished having a theatre in our town. I also feel that having a new theatre would benefit so many individuals, not to mention the positive economic impact to our area.

I presently serve on numerous committees throughout the town of Peterborough and my Church. I have been an active volunteer in the ConVal School District for twelve years, and served on the Children and the Arts Committee for eight years.

I am extremely supportive and proud of my daughter’s pursuit of a career in the theatre. She is a graduate of Adelphi University as a Theatre Major, and she was a recipient of the Jonathan Larson Scholarship.

Name a play that you saw at ConVal and loved

There are many shows that I enjoyed at ConVal but “Little Women” has to be my all-time favorite. The chemistry among the cast was just incredible, with each actor portraying their character perfectly. Of course, my favorite character was Beth, played by my daughter. I loved the singing and the interaction between her and other cast members. The show was touching and heartwarming. It was truly a tribute to this wonderful classic.
